Don’t See Your Town? We Still Cover You
Areas We Cover — Your Questions Answered
The cost of a removal depends on the size of your property, the distance between the two addresses, access at both ends — parking, stairs, narrow lanes — and any packing or storage you add. A one-bed flat moving locally costs much less than a large family house crossing counties, which is why we price from a proper survey rather than a guess. That means a short video walkthrough or an in-person visit, followed by a fixed written quote with no hidden extras. Man and van jobs for smaller loads start from £80. Your written quote covers the crew, the vehicle and standard protection of floors and furniture, and any packing, storage or dismantling you add is priced at the same time — so the figure you agree is the figure you pay. The best way to get an accurate figure for your own move is a free, no-obligation quote — request yours here or see our pricing guide for how the pieces add up.
Where our schedule allows, we can accommodate short-notice and urgent moves across Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire and Kent, including our man and van service for smaller loads. The honest picture: Fridays and end-of-month dates book up first, because that’s when most completions happen, so a mid-week move is usually easier to fit in at short notice. A man and van job can also often be slotted in sooner than a full house move that needs a bigger crew. If your dates have moved suddenly — a completion brought forward, a rental handover, a chain that’s finally clicked — call us on 01903 893731 as early as you can and we’ll tell you straight away what is possible. Even at short notice you get the same trained, insured crew and a clear written price before we start.
Yes — we offer clean, dry, ultra-secure containerised storage for short and long-term needs. It’s the answer to the most common timing problem in a house move: your completion dates don’t quite line up, or you’re selling before you’ve found the next place. Your belongings are loaded once, sealed into their own container, and stay there untouched until you’re ready — no double handling, no repacking. The same crew that collects can redeliver when your new home completes, whether that’s a few days later or many months on. Many customers use it for a week or two between completions; others keep a container on for months while a renovation finishes — both are normal. Tell us at the survey if storage might come into your move and we’ll price it into your written quote from the start, so a delay in the chain never becomes a crisis on the day.
Absolutely. Every move is fully insured and carried out by our trained team, wherever you are in our coverage area. Goods-in-transit and public liability cover is in place, and you can add full damage insurance for an extra 10% of your invoice total. Insurance is only half the story, though: the crew protects your floors, doorways and furniture as standard, and anything fragile or high-value is wrapped and handled by people trained for exactly that. We are also specialist — the Association of Art & Antiques Dealers — for antiques and fine art, and Checkatrade-verified, so our insurance, vetting and standards have been checked independently rather than just claimed. If you have something unusual to move, tell us at the survey and we’ll confirm exactly how it will be covered before you book.
We cover 65 towns and villages across five counties: West Sussex (39 towns, including Horsham, Worthing, Chichester and Crawley), East Sussex (18 towns, including Brighton, Eastbourne and Hastings), Surrey (Guildford, Dorking, Reigate and more), the Petersfield area of Hampshire, and the Tunbridge Wells corner of Kent. We’re based near Pulborough in West Sussex, roughly in the middle of it all, and wherever you are in those five counties the service is the same: trained, insured crews, a free survey and a fixed written quote. Longer moves — the rest of the UK and into Europe — run from the same West Sussex base. Choose your county or town above — and if yours isn’t listed we almost certainly still cover you — our crews are on the A27, A24 and A23 corridors most days: ask for a quote and we’ll confirm your area.
Yes. You can buy sturdy double-walled boxes, tape, bubble wrap and specialist cartons — wardrobe boxes, picture cartons and more — from our box shop. If you’d rather not pack at all, our full packing service works through the house room by room, while fragile packing covers just the delicate things — china, glass, artwork — and leaves the everyday items to you. For anything travelling overseas we offer proper export packing. Everything is priced upfront in your written quote, so packing never appears as a surprise extra, and when the move is done we can collect your used boxes next time one of our vans is in your area — so you’re not left with a garage full of flattened cardboard. One tip from the crews: if you’re packing yourself, order more boxes than you think you need — running out on the last evening is the most common packing mistake we see.
We can. Just let us know at the quote stage which items need taking apart and rebuilding — beds, wardrobes, flat-pack units and larger dining tables are all part of the service — and the crew arrives with the right tools to handle it safely at both ends. Dismantling before loading protects both the furniture and your walls and door frames, and reassembly at the new house means you sleep in a made-up bed on night one rather than facing an allen key late in the evening. For genuinely tricky items — pianos, large antiques, garden statuary — we bring specialist equipment and people trained for those specific jobs. Mention everything at the survey and it all goes into your fixed written quote, so there’s nothing to sort out on the day. And if something was built inside the room it lives in — a fitted wardrobe, say — tell us early and we’ll be straight with you at the survey about what can safely be moved.
